MEGA SUPERCHARGED

UK Tuner Adds Muscle To Mach 1

When Ford revived the Mach 1 nameplate, its engineers drew on the best elements of all Mustangs that preceded it.

The result was called the pinnacle of 5.0-liter performance from a Mustang. It is certainly an impressive machine, but that doesn’t mean Mach 1 drivers don’t want more. To that end, Clive Sutton Ltd., a car dealer and tuner in the United Kingdom created its 767 Edition Mach 1 by Sutton Mustang.

“Exclusivity, range-beating performance and absolute attention to detail are all qualities our customers look for — we’ve delivered each in spades with the 767 Edition Mach 1,” company chairman Clive Sutton explained. “The fact we managed to ‘hit the speed of sound’ figure with our horsepower upgrades makes this model even more special… it’s so much more of a Mach 1 than the stock version!”

UK tuner Clive Sutton muscles up Ford’s latest performance pony car with exhaust, suspension, and supercharger upgrades resulting in the 767 Edition Mach 1 by Sutton Mustang. The centerpiece of these modifications is an orange Whipple Gen 5 3.0-liter supercharger.

The major player in delivering that level of performance is the addition of a Whipple supercharger which boosts the 5.0-liter Coyote engine. Supporting that output are suspension and exhaust upgrades. The Sutton Mach 1 also receives an upgraded rear spoiler, an aero front splitter, front wheel-lip moldings, and a unique set of 19-inch wheels.
