SHELBY SMOKE SHOW!

Team Lethal’s tire-shredding 2020 GT500

Sometimes when you place that order, it just doesn’t come as quickly as you would like. However, when you clicked confirm on an order for a 2020 Shelby GT500 with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack mega option which takes the already impressive halo stallion to a new level on the road course, it is definitely worth the wait.

While Lethal Performance CEO and official Mustang King, Jared Rosen, is used to being on the cutting edge with new performance Fords, he is still stoked to finally receive his company’s latest project car on July 16, 2020 — almost a year after he ordered it.

“I ordered this when the order guides opened up in June of 2019,” Jared explained. “We put our order in on June 28th, and we are very grateful for receiving the Golden Ticket from Phillip Weikert at Weikert Ford. He gave me his ticket and helped me out. This is the car we wanted, and here it is a year later.”

Jared Rosen, CEO of Lethal Performance, a.k.a. the Mustang King, travelled to Weikert Ford in Lake Wales, Florida, to retrieve the company’s latest project car — a 2020 Shelby GT500 upfit with the Carbon Fiber Track Package.

As the company’s ardent followers on social media know, Team Lethal is all about producing content around the parts the company sells and the project cars it builds. Often this includes irreverent videos starring Jared as a number of characters, including his popular Mustang King, inspired by none other than Tiger King’s Joe Exotic.

2020 Shelby GT500 delivery for the Mustang King

We were on-hand to capture the behind the scenes action of Jared taking delivery of his new Oxford White Shelby. As many have seen from the Team Lethal livestreams and packaged videos, this day included an elderly Jared, who “aged” while waiting for the car’s arrival, as well as an all-American cowboy giving the dealership a shoutout. Even the Mustang King showed up for the grand finale of a burnout right in front of the dealership.

Of course, even as impressive as the 760-horsepower Shelby is in stock form, it is merely a jumping-off point for another Team Lethal project, which the company will document on its social channels. Eventually, it will gain a familiar power adder atop its 5.2-liter Predator engine.

“I think we are going to start out with the basics. I want to spend some time with it factory and go through all the driver modes and exhaust modes to really learn about the car stock,” Jared elaborated. “Then we will probably roll into doing some basic mods on it — a custom tune from Lund Racing with gasoline and then maybe E85. Then we’ll start doing some exhaust mods to it, and eventually we are going to slap a big Whipple on it like we do with all of our cars.”

So stay tuned for more supercharged fun from the Team Lethal gang. For now, enjoy a behind the scenes look at the delivery in the video above.
