Ringbrothers Rocked The SEMA Show With A Stunning Custom Stallion

Building a restored Mustang isn’t something new. Neither is building one to a high level, but when Ringbrothers focuses on transforming a classic car, it usually results in a new level of crafted quality. At this year’s annual automotive aftermarket gathering, also known as The SEMA Show, the noted car customizer unveiled an array of incredible vehicles, including a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 named PATRIARC.

“This year has been an amazing one forRingbrothers with four vehicle debuts at the 2022 SEMA Show,” said Ringbrothers co-owner Mike Ring. “PATRIARC is one of them and showcases our capabilities, levels of craftsmanship, and engineering when reimagining what this iconic car could become. It is modern performance, capability, and comfort wrapped in a classic American exterior.”

While the company built a diverse array of machines, the one that hit close to home carried one of the most iconic Blue Oval performers to a new level. Ringbrothers modernized the muscular Mustang’s styling and performance.

“The Mustang Mach 1 has always been an aggressive-looking car, and we wanted to add to those classic good looks with subtle but critical changes,” added Ringbrothers co-owner Jim Ring. “Over 5,000 hours went into building PATRIAC and perfecting the aesthetics. And, like all our builds, it has the performance to match its new-found aggression. Teaming with our trusted partners BASF, Motul, Miller Welding, Painless Wiring, GFS, and others helps make it all possible.”

Powering PATRIARC is a Ford Performance Aluminator 5.2 XS engine that delivers 580 horsepower and 445 lb-ftof torque. A TREMEC Magnum six-speed manual transmission harnesses that Coyotepower and transfers it to a Strange Engineering 9-inch rearend.

The basis of the project is the Roadster Shop FAST TRACK Stage III chassis that Ringbrothers fused with the Mustang Mach 1 body. That body was stretched by two inches and the rear quarters were dropped. The shop also crafted a new floorpan and transmission tunnel. Beneath that solid foundation is a Roadster Shop FAST TRACK front and rear suspension damped by Penske Racing Shocks RS Edition coilovers that plant wide Michelin Pilot Sport 4S wrapped around HRE Wheels G-Code Edition wheels.

Those HREs spin courtesy of a Strange Engineering 9-inch rearend on the business end of a Bowler TREMEC Magnum six-speed manual mated to the engine with a Centerforce clutch. That engine isn't any pushrod powerplant, however. Instead, Ringbrothers swapped in a Ford Performance Aluminator 5.2 XS engine pumping out 580 horsepower and 445 lb-ftof torque.

The completely custom interior modernizes the driving experience of this muscle car with striking looks and all the conveniences.

PATRIARC is more than just a potent performer, however. Framed by the aforementioned roll cage is a completely custom interior with upholstery and trim work by Avant-Garde Interiors. Augmented by a Vintage Air Gen IV Magnum climate control system, the interior features gauges by Dakota Digital and a custom carbon-fiber steering wheel.

Ringbrothers widened the classic ’69 Mach 1 body linesand mounted the body on a Roadster Shop FAST TRACK Stage III chassis rounded out by a Roadster Shop FAST TRACK front and rear suspension.

The carbon-fiber theme carries on to the exterior of PATRIARC as its widened body is adorned with carbon fiber rear side scoops that direct air over the taillights. The rear diffuser is also carbon fiber, while the armrests, door panels, emblems, rear bumper, seat backs, and more are among the custom billet and 3D-printed parts on the car.

In total the thousands of hours of work coupled with the modern drivetrain and custom parts resulted in a Mustang restomod that stands out —even in a glitzy show like SEMA.

Underneath PATRIARC does its part to save the manuals by employing a TREMEC Magnum six-speed manual transmission.
